Bio
I am passionate about photography in general, and film photography in particular. All the photographs that I take are film photographs.

I am dedicated to film photography because film feels limitless in every possible way. It is a craft, a technic, a science and an Art. There is nothing that compares to physically touching wet emulsion, and seeing a photograph on a negative. From this perspective, Film photography is very emotional and romantic, from the viewfinder to the negative image.
I believe that the future is analogue.
As it happens photography is my hobby ; I am a “keen hobbyist” as manufacturers would put it. Apart from when I was a child, I never considered it being my profession, and my day job does not have anything to do, even remotely, with photography.

I was offered my first SLR, a canon AE1 program when I was about 13 years old. I started taking photographs, mostly when I was travelling. I certainly knew inside out my camera but somehow it did not translate in my photographs.

With the arrival of digital, my dreams came true... medium format cameras became affordable to me. So in 2005 I bought my first medium format camera, a Bronica ETRSi, and since then, I always felt like Alice having stumbled in the rabbit hole.

I found APUG in 2007. APUG was essential to my learning as I am self taught. Also, through APUG, I met people who turned out to be real eye openers. I am very grateful to them. Later on, in January 2008 my home darkroom was set up.

I am equally passionate about the mechanics of my cameras, the process of taking a photograph, and traditional silver gelatin printing; although silver printing takes more and more of my time and interest.

I make every endeavour to communicate my passion for analogue photography with others ; and when I day dream, I dream I carbon print...
